You don’t need to know the whole menu to have a good first meal in Little India. A little curiosity and a willingness to ask questions go a long way.
Start with a region, not a checklist.
At Udupi Palace, South Indian dishes offer one way in. A dosa is a savory crepe that may arrive with chutneys and sambar; a thali brings several dishes together so you can explore a range of flavors.
Rajdhani offers a different starting point: vegetarian Gujarati thali. Make lunch the center of your visit instead of trying to squeeze too many meals into one afternoon.
Leave room for the little things.
After lunch, browse the shops along Pioneer Boulevard. A later stop at Surati Farsan Mart can introduce you to Indian sweets and snacks, while Saffron Spot offers an ice cream finish.
Ask before you order.
Vegetarian does not automatically mean vegan, and sweets may contain dairy or nuts. Tell the staff about allergies and dietary needs. Ask what they recommend from the current menu and how much food makes sense for your group.
Menus, prices and hours vary. Use the restaurant links in our guide to check directly before making a special trip.
